Clean Bus Technology Fund
£40m Clean Bus Technology Fund
The government has now allocated £40 million to upgrade buses using retrofit technology, such as the Eminox SCRT® system, via the Clean Bus Technology Fund.
20 Local Authorities across England and Wales have been sucessful in securing funding for bus retrofit projects from 2017 - 2019.
The latest generation of SCRT technology, designed by Eminox, can reduce NOx and NO2 by 99%, and particulate matter by 95%, resulting in emissions equivalent to Euro VI. It also comes with On-Board Diagnostic (OBD) integration and real time remote monitoring via our telematics solution.
Only Clean Vehicle Retrofit Accreditation Scheme (CVRAS) approved technologies, such as the Eminox SCRT system, are eligible for the funding. This technology will also upgrade vehicles to Euro VI, the minimum standard for Clean Air Zones (CAZ) and London’s Ultra Low Emissions Zone (ULEZ).
Eminox’s SCRT technology is currently approved for a wide range of diesel and hybrid buses including Volvo and Alexander Dennis as part of an £86 million retrofit programme to upgrade around 5,000 Transport for London (TfL) controlled buses across the capital.
The range of SCRT systems approved by CVRAS continues to expand.
