Eminox SCRT® System

Eminox is now combining CRT® (Continuously Regenerating Trap) technology with SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) to reduce the fourth major pollutant nitrogen oxides (NOX). The combination of these technologies in SCRT® provides a system which reduces all legislated diesel engine emissions.

In addition to the removal of particular matter, hydrocarbons and carbon monoxide, the CRT® is designed to optimise the exhaust gas composition so that excellent reduction of nitrogen oxides is achieved in the SCR element of the system.

The SCRT is supplied as original equipment and for retrofit, allowing Euro 1, 2 and 3 vehicles to meet Euro 4 and 5 levels. Where required, the SCRT® system can be optimised to meet specific primary and secondary emissions targets.

The system is available in close coupled or inline configurations, so it can be used for a variety of vehicles and engine configurations. The industry standard AdBlue®, an aqueous solution of urea, is used as the SCR reducing agent which is stored in a separate tank on the vehicle.

SCRT® System Performance

The Eminox SCRT® system which removes over 90% of all particulate matter, hydrocarbons (HC) and carbon monoxide (CO) plus 65 - 80% of nitrogen oxides (NOX) can enable buses and trucks to meet the equivalent of even the most stringent diesel emissions regulations, including Euro 4 and the future Euro 5 standard. This chart shows the typical emissions reductions.

SCRT® emissions reductions achieved on a Euro 2 DeLijn bus (Volvo 9.6 Litre engine) during real-life operation. Measurements performed by Vito using their VOEMLow system.

While the principles behind the SCRT system are straightforward, the dosing of the AdBlue must be finely tuned to the characteristics and performance of the engine to ensure excellent NOX reduction and reliable performance. Eminox application engineers have a wealth of experience in this aspect of SCR technology, gained through joint development work with Johnson Matthey plc, one of the world's leading chemical technology companies. Our commitment to excellence, applications engineering experience and rigorous testing show in products with outstanding performance and reliability in the real world.

To protect the valuable catalysts and filter components and to ensure a long life, the SCRT® system is housed in high grade stainless steel.
