Eminox Fuel Borne Catalyst (FBC) System

The Eminox FBC System (Fuel Borne Catalyst) is one of the leading diesel particulate filter systems, it can reduce Particulate Matter emissions by more than 90%. It is now available with an active regeneration option, which makes the system ideal for vehicles with lower average exhaust temperatures; such as those operating on lighter duty cycles, smaller commercial diesel engines and off-highway vehicles.

The system uses a silicon carbide filter which traps Particulate Matter (PM10) including ultra fine particles (below one micron) which are considered the most damaging to health.

The FBC system is able to cope with the higher particulate emissions of older pre Euro and Euro 1 engines. It can also be used on vehicles that do not run on low sulphur diesel (LSD / ULSD).

Because a catalyst is added to the fuel, there is no catalyst section in the exhaust itself, making the system compact and able to fit the space envelope of a wide range of vehicles. Eminox applications engineering expertise allows the system to be tailored to individual vehicles' requirements.

The Active FBC option remains compact, but has the additional benefit of controlled filter regeneration at greater frequency and lower ignition temperatures. This active system maintains back pressure within a limited range, avoiding back pressure peaks and potential filter blocking.

The Eminox FBC system is designed to use the Satacen^® 3 additive which is stored in a separate tank on the vehicle and dosed in precise amounts directly into the fuel system. It is consumed at a rate of 1 litre Satacen^® 3 to 2200 litres diesel, so a small amount of the additive goes a long way, making the system cost effective to operate.
