Introduced from 1999, EU regulations set emissions standards for non road machinery, powered by combustion engines (Directive 2004/26/EC). The table below shows implementation dates* for each stage of legislation, according to engine size, for non road mobile machinery.
* Earlier implementation dates apply for new type approvals.
Emissions standards are based on the levels of Particulate Matter, Nitrogen Oxides, Hydrocarbons and Carbon Monoxide. The standards vary according to equipment type and engine size. The table below illustrates the standard for stages IIIA and IIIB for non-mobile machinery*.
