Clean Air Power has developed new Dual-Fuel technology that enables heavy duty diesel engines to operate on a combination of diesel and natural gas.
The use of gas as a clean alternative to diesel is beneficial with regard to fuel efficiency and CO2 emissions, but it can increase the emissions of methane hydrocarbons (HC), a powerful greenhouse gas. Clean Air Power (CAP) sought our emission control expertise to design a system to reduce the HC emissions from Dual-Fuel engines. It was a challenging but successful project with the development of a specially modified oxidation catalyst that reduces the HC emissions and is now integrated into methane diesel trucks that use CAP's Dual-Fuel technology.
