We are looking for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Technician. You will ensure the effective running of all plant and equipment through regular maintenance programmes. This will prevent breakdowns and lost equipment efficiencies through proactive use of Mechanical and Electrical reliability based maintenance techniques for all equipment.

  • Ensure all equipment runs reliably with no faults forward, by fast and effective breakdown response through effective fault-finding techniques
  • Carry out detailed root-cause analysis and Machine FMEA work where appropriate, and ensure implementation of all corrective actions and countermeasures
  • Install and commission of new plant and machinery as required
  • De-commission and relocate existing plant and machinery as required
  • Identify and undertake continuous improvement activity where appropriate
  • Contribute subject matter expertise to the development of new and existing machines and processes
  • Work closely with other departments as required in a professional, polite and efficient manner
  • To carry out any reasonable request/duty as required by a Supervisor, Manager or Director
  • Ensure the generation and maintenance of all relevant documentation
  • Ensure all work area housekeeping standards are maintained
  • Provide guidance and training to other employees where appropriate
  • Ensure that all parts are used effectively and re-ordered in a timely fashion
  • On call duties as necessary

Person Specification
Education and Qualifications
• A good general education with City & Guilds, or equivalent, in Engineering
• Recognised Apprenticeship served
• Qualified to 17th Edition
• A recognised PLC training course

Skills and Experience
• A manufacturing background would be advantageous
• Sound knowledge of H&S at Work Regulations
• Effective fault-finding of Mechanical and Electrical systems
• Effective fault-finding of Hydraulic and Pneumatic systems
• Effective fault-finding of machine control systems, including machine safety systems
• PLC fault-finding and programming
• Robotics programming and fault-finding
• Planned and predictive maintenance techniques
• General mechanical plant and machinery maintenance
• Able to understand mechanical, electrical and schematic drawings
