This is a fantastic opportunity for a buyer with experience of working within a fast-paced engineering environment to take the next step in their career. We are looking for an enthusiastic and driven individual to join our business.

Reporting to the Senior Buyer this role is responsible for providing a professional supply chain support function to the business, focussed primarily within Retrofit. This role manages all aspects of supply chain within the supplier base. Responsible for supporting project teams in relation to procurement activities.  You will also have the responsibility for sourcing new and existing parts, sourcing and onboarding suppliers, negotiations of terms and conditions including payment terms, benefits and pricing with new and existing suppliers.  You must ensure consistent and traceable processes are utilised and developed to enable strategic goals.

Responsibilities: 

• Placement of purchase orders under direction from the Senior Buyer
• Scheduling of supplier deliveries to ensure right parts are available at the right time to support build
• Delivering cost savings with an uncompromising wish to deliver best total cost for the business
• Analysis and reporting of Supply Chain data and the maintenance of KPI’s to include Supplier delivery performance, Supplier Quality performance, Supplier cost variances, and inventory tracking
• The maintenance of the supplier part/cost database
• The issuing of drawings for new production parts to suppliers and the updating of prices in IFS
• Maintenance of the approved supplier database
• Updating the records of supplier accreditation certificates
• Price updates in IFS to include AAF and platinum price updates in IFS
• Creation and maintenance of NDA database
• PPAP paperwork
• Addressing invoice queries due to price differences and arranging credits where they are due
• General duties to include typing of visit reports, audit reports, meeting minutes etc
• Any other duties deemed necessary

Person Specification:

Education, Qualifications and Experience:

• Experience in a similar role
• A good level of education
• Experience of using business systems (IFS or a similar MRP system)
• Computer literate (Microsoft Office/Outlook)
• Articulate with excellent communication skills
• Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently
• Experienced in preparing presentations and reports
• Experience of working within a busy environment with changing priorities
• MCIPS (desirable)
